Helpful Information

Weather permitting, we start harvesting sod in March and finish the season the last week of November. Remember, September, October and November are the most ideal months to plant.

Our root base is a hearty 1”. That means that your ground or soil level should be 1” down from your sidewalks or stone walkways. This will allow you to step comfortably onto a level root base cushion. The blade will stand 2+” above.

  1. Turf is cut into slabs which are folded in half and stacked onto pallets that are 48”X40”. They are a little easier to handle than rolls.
Each slab is 16”X45” or 5 square feet. One slab weighs approximately 30 pounds.
  • Each pallet is 400 square feet and weighs approximately 2400 pounds.
  • One pallet (400 square feet) can be hauled in a full size pickup or 250-300 square feet in a small or mid size pickup. They are easily loaded with a fork lift. If you are picking up with a trailer, a ram may also be used.
